Mildred Smith, 86, passed away Monday, December 12, 2016. She was born December 25, 1929, in Union County, NC, a daughter of the late Ellis and Ella Griffin. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Thursday, December 15, 2016, in the Gordon Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in Lakeland Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 1:45 PM prior to the service. Mrs. Smith was a member of Oakland Baptist Church of Monroe. She is survived by a son Jerry Smith of Atlanta, GA, a daughter Joann Strickland of Spartanburg, SC, and three grandchildren. Gordon Funeral Service Crematory is caring for the Smith Family.
