Minnie Helms Taylor, 92, passed away Friday, January 23, 2015. She was born November 17, 1922 in Union County, daughter of the late George Washington and Carrie Pressley Helms. A graveside service will be Monday, January 26, 2015 at 11:00 AM in Lakeland Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Sunday, January 25, 2015 from 5:00 - 7:00 PM in Gordon Funeral Service, 1904 Lancaster Avenue, Monroe, NC 28112. Ms. Taylor is survived by her son, Johnny Taylor and wife Betty of Indian Trail; grandson, Jamie Christopher Taylor; great-grandchildren, Lauren, Dalton and Sarah Beth Taylor; step-grandchildren, Ricky and Monica Hannah; and her brother, Robert Lewis “Bud” Helms of Monroe.
