Myra (Tucker) Poplin

Myra Tucker Poplin, 80, passed away at her home on Tuesday, June 12, 2018. She was born July 27, 1937 in Union County, NC daughter to the late John Neil Hazel Gordon Tucker. She is also preceded in death by her husband John Lee Poplin, Jr, and a brother, Johnny Tucker. A graveside service will be held 11:00 AM Friday, June 15, 2018 at Lakeland Memorial Park. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 9:30AM until 10:30AM at Gordon Funeral Service, 1904 Lancaster Avenue, Monroe, NC 28112. Myra is survived by a son Stephen Eric Poplin, wife Mary, of Pageland, SC a daughter Tanya Poplin Boyce, of Monroe and four grandchildren; Katie Poplin Louallen, Matthew Stuart Boyce, wife Diane, Miles Tyler Boyce and Macon Christopher Boyce; two great-grandchildren, Gabriel Louallen and Brandt Boyce. She was the organist for Shiloh Baptist Church, Church of the Savior and Gordon Funeral Home until which she decided to make gardening and yard work her full-time job. Her home/yard was actually yard of the year several times in the city of Monroe. Memorials may be made in Myra’s memory to Hospice and Palliative Care of Union County, 700 W.
