Nadine Nesbit

Nadine Diana Rowland Nesbit, 93 years old, died Saturday morning, January 16, 2021 at the Blake Edgewater Memory Center. Mrs. Nesbit was born on September 18, 1927 in Cleveland, Ohio daughter of the late Margaret Prusser and Robert Thorp Rowland. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 63 years, Clarence Reid Nesbit, and a young son, John Reid Nesbit. Mrs. Nesbit graduated from Prospect High School and Lees McRae College. In 1948, after attending Lees McRae in Banner Elk, NC, Mrs. Nesbit returned home to Waxhaw where she and her husband were married and raised their two children on the family farm. During this time, their young son Reid was diagnosed with and later died of cancer. Upon his death, Mrs. Nesbit utilized her college degree and became a laboratory technician where she spent 28 years working at the NC State Diagnostic Laboratory in Monroe, NC. Mrs. Nesbit was an engaging and “full of life” Southern Lady... She lived everyday of her life with zest and contentment. She was a lifelong member of Prospect United Methodist Church. Mrs. Nesbit leaves behind a legacy of love and pride for her surviving family that includes her daughter, Dr. Donica Davidson and husband, Dean Davidson of Waxhaw, NC; grandson Shannon Rushing (Jennifer) of Raleigh, NC and a special granddaughter Deana Hicks (Dave) of Waxhaw, NC. She is also survived by five beautiful great grandchildren, a brother-in-law George Dillon Nesbit (Silvia) of Waxhaw, a sister-in-law Freida Parker of Greenville, SC and several loving nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 on Saturday, January 23, 2021 at Prospect United Methodist Church. The family request those attending the service to please wear a face covering.
