Nancy Jamison Nance

Nancy Jamison Nance, 80, of Indian Trail, NC passed away on Saturday, April 12, 2025. She was born in Mecklenburg County, NC on May 9, 1944, daughter to the late James B. Jamison and Louise Yost Jamison. She is also preceded in death by her husband Donald Ellis Nance, as well as her three brothers, Carl Jamison, Buddy Jamison, and Ben Jamison.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00PM on Monday, April 21, 2025, at Hopewell Baptist Church Legacy Campus, 420 Hopewell Church Road, Monroe, NC 28110, with burial to follow in Sunset Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 11:30 AM until 12:45 PM in the church.

Nancy graduated from Appalachian Teachers College, currently known as Appalachian State University. She taught third grade for 33 years at Hickory Grove Elementary School. She retired from teaching to care for her grandchildren, Madison and Gus. Nancy loved family and children and dedicated her life to both. She treasured time with family, singing together, vacations and spending time on the water always with her glass of "sweet tea". She was lovingly known by everyone as Nana.

Nancy is survived by her daughter, Wendy Maynard (Greg), son, Paul Nance, brother, Phil Jamison (Marlyn), two sisters, Libby Wilson, and Janice Edwards (Phil), two grandchildren, Madison Maynard and Gus Nance, four great-nieces, Emma Grace Staples and Anna Catherine Staples, Ella Jamison and Layla Jamison, one great nephew, Camden Troutman.

In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to the Hopewell Church Building Fund, 420 Hopewell Church Road, Monroe, NC 28110.
