Naomi “Peggy” Plyler Helms, 90, of Monroe, NC passed away on Thursday, May 4, 2023. She was born in Union County on August 2, 1932, daughter to the late Harrison Plyler and Blonnie Hinson Plyler. She is also preceded in death by her husband Willie Helms, as well as her sisters, Edith McManus; Wilhelmenia Bigham; Ruby Robinson; and Edna Carter.

A Graveside Service will be held at 3:00PM on Sunday, May 7, 2023, at Secrest Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, 4505 Weddington Road, Monroe, NC 28110.

Peggy is survived by her son Terry Michael Helms, daughter Barbara Richards (John), two grandsons, Brian Griffin (Emily); Russell Griffin (Beth); and six great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers the family request memorials be made to Union County Hospice, 700 W. Roosevelt Blvd, Monroe, NC 28110.
