Nellie (Belk) Starnes

Nellie Belk Starnes, 85, passed away Friday, August 19, 2016. She was born May 25, 1931 in Mecklenburg County, daughter to the late James Samuel Macie Smith Belk. She is also preceded in death by two brothers Hubert Belk, Elbert Belk, and a granddaughter Amy Starnes. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM, Monday, August 22, 2016 at Sandy Ridge Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 PM until 1:45 PM. Mrs. Starnes is survived by her loving husband J. Brice Starnes, two sons Gary Starnes, wife (Linda) and Glenn Starnes, wife (Gail), a brother Olin Belk of Iron Station, two sisters Ella Mae Hager of Charlotte, and Helen Lowe of Mt. Holly, four grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.
