Orlando Jimenez-Mendoza, 80, of Charlotte, NC, passed away Thursday, May 9, 2019 at home surrounded by his family. He was born in Chile a son of the late Juan Bautista and Luzmira Mendoza Jimenez. Funeral services will be held 1:00PM Sunday, May 12, 2019 in the Gordon Funeral Chapel 1904 Lancaster Ave. Monroe, NC 28112 with Bishop Eduardo Eguizabal officiating. Entombment will follow in Lakeland Memorial Park. Orlando was a faithful member of the Charlotte Ward in the Charlotte Central Stake of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He served 26 years as a Marine and retired from the Chilean Marine Corp. Orlando is survived by his wife, Rosita Jimenez, six sons, Fredi, Nicki, Claudio, Marcelo, Orlando and Rodrigo, two sisters, Marlene and Natalia, 12 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
