Dateline: Waxhaw, NC O. T. Starnes, Jr., 80, died Saturday, November 1, 2008, at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Union County, NC on October 19, 1928 son of the late Odus Theodore and Stella McWhorter Starnes. Mr. Starnes was a U.S. Army veteran and a retired employee of Springs Industries. He was a member of Walkersville Presbyterian Church, where he served as a Deacon and Sunday school teacher and also was Boy Scout Master of Troup 125, for over 5 years. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, November 4, 2008 at Walkersville Presbyterian Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Nell Starnes, son, Tim Starnes, daughter, Sandy Brady, sister, Sara Gordon, five grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
