Obituary

Pamela Sue McAuley, lovingly known as Pam, passed away peacefully on July 6, 2026, at the age of 64.

Pam was born on December 27, 1961, in Okinawa, Japan, while her father was serving in the military. She later made her home in Monroe, North Carolina, where she built a life centered on family, hard work, and unwavering love.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00PM on Sunday, July 12, 2026, at Covenant Baptist Church, 2706 Secrest Shortcut Rd, Monroe, NC 28110, with visitation to follow.

Throughout her career, Pam worked in human resources and accounting, dedicating many years to helping others through her professionalism, kindness, and integrity. In her later years, she was proud to work for Smithfield Foods, where she continued to bring the same commitment and work ethic that defined her life.

Pam found joy at the beach, where the sound of the waves and the warmth of the sun brought her peace. She loved the color red because, as she often said, “Red is power.” It suited her perfectly-a color that reflected her strength, resilience, and spirit.

Above all else, Pam’s greatest love was her family. She adored her son, Keith, and her daughter, Kelly, with all her heart. To them, she was more than a mother-she was their first love, their first best friend, and the person who taught them what unconditional love looked like. Her love will continue to live on in each of them and in the generations that follow.

Pam was preceded in death by her parents, James Owens and Ethel Owens.

She is survived by her devoted husband, David “Mike” McAuley; her beloved children, Keith Henley and Kelly Ranson; and her treasured grandchildren, Harper Ranson, Sarah Henley, Hannah Henley, Ethan Henley, Nora Hayes, and Harley Henley, each of whom brought immeasurable joy to her life.

Pam will be remembered for her caring heart, quiet strength, fierce love for her family, and the countless ways she made those around her feel cared for and supported. Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing that the love she gave so freely will remain with us always.

She leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and family that will never be forgotten.
