Pasquale Patrick Antonucci

June 2, 1953 — August 15, 2020

Patrick Gennaro Antonucci (“Nucci”) passed away Saturday night, August 15, 2020, after a 28-month battle with Pancreatic Cancer. He was born June 2, 1953 to Jerome and Catherine Torre Antonucci in Brooklyn, NY. He attended St Margaret’s Catholic Elementary School and Regis High School in New York. The family moved to Rocky Point, New York where he graduated from State University of New York Stony Brook with a BA in Theatre. He met his future wife Barbara while working for the IRS and they were married in 1978. After the birth of his children, Robyn and Michael, he entered the teaching profession. He received his MA from SUNY Stony Brook and taught English in several Long Island districts. He heard of a position at Parkwood High School in Monroe and moved the family to North Carolina. He spent 18 years there, achieving his dream of teaching theatre full time in 2006. “Nucci” leaves behind his wife of 42 years Barbara Ross Antonucci, children Robyn Antonucci Dominianni and Michael Patrick Antonucci, son-in-law Christopher Dominianni, grandson Matthew, and the many many students that he always said he hoped he influenced. We know he did. The family will be holding a drop-in visit from 6:00pm until 8:00pm on Thursday, August 20, 2020 at Gordon Funeral Service, 1904 Lancaster Ave, Monroe, NC 28112. Please come with your masks, and share your memories of Pat with us and each other. In lieu of flowers, please support the Arts in Nucci’s name.
