Paul Bartholomew

Paul Bartholomew, 91, of Waxhaw, NC went peacefully to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, January 6, 2023. He was born in Philadelphia County PA, on March 10, 1931 son to the late Robert Bartholomew and Elizabeth Little Bartholomew.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 3:00PM on Friday, January 13, 2023 at JAARS Cameron Building, 7405 JAARS Road, Waxhaw, NC 28173. A family graveside service will be held on Saturday, January 14, 2023 at Waxhaw City Cemetery, 111 Arbor Drive, Waxhaw, NC 28173.

Paul served the Lord faithfully for over 40 years with JAARS and Wycliffe Bible Translators. He spent over 20 years in the jungles of Peru, South America, working in the aviation department supporting Bible translation. It was his passion to assist in the work of Bible translation for unreached tribes giving the word to others in their own language.

Paul (Bart, as he was known) was unwavering in his faith and commitment to his family and his work. He was frequently trying to make others laugh and was known as a great jokester and story-teller!

Paul is survived by his loving wife Grace Heiser Bartholomew; their children, Debbie Bartholomew, Jim Bartholomew (Cindi Kies), David Bartholomew (Meghan), Kathy Bentley (Robert), Faith Smith and Dawn Rash (Craig); 14 grandchildren, Kara, Chelsa, Kathryn, Krista, Heather, Jeremiah, Craig Jr, Caroline, Clayton, Sam, Adam, Elizabeth, Nathan and Natalie; six great-grandchildren, Evelyn, Naomi, Noah, Luke, Autumn and David Steven.
