In Loving Memory of Paul James Steele
October 12, 1934 – April 3, 2025
It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Paul James Steele, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and faithful servant of the Lord. Paul entered eternal peace on April 3, 2025, at the age of 90, leaving behind a legacy of love, faith, and kindness that touched the lives of all who knew him.
Paul was a man who embodied the true spirit of selflessness, patience, and compassion. He was a shining example of what it means to live a life in service to others, always putting the needs of those around him before his own. His unwavering faith in God guided every aspect of his life, and he dedicated himself to serving others with love, kindness, and humility. He will forever be remembered as a devoted servant of the Lord, walking in the footsteps of Christ and leading his family with grace and wisdom.
Paul proudly served his country as a Veteran of the United States Navy, an experience that shaped his discipline, work ethic, and sense of duty. After his military service, he Retired with 30 years at Nabisco. He formed lifelong friendships and was deeply respected for his dedication, integrity and passion to succeed. After retirement, he carried his passion and helped many in the community through his business Paul’s Auto Sales.
Paul and his beloved wife, Margaret Broome Steele, were married for 69 years. Their love story is one of enduring commitment and partnership. Together, they built a beautiful life full of memories and joy, a union that was a true reflection of God’s love and faithfulness.
From this strong and loving foundation, Paul and Margaret raised three children who in turn gave them ten grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Paul’s family was his pride and joy, and he cherished every moment spent with them. He was a pillar of strength, wisdom, and unconditional love to each of them. As a father, he was supportive and encouraging, always offering his guidance and steadfast love. As a grandfather and great-grandfather, Paul’s heart overflowed with joy as he watched his family grow and thrive, passing down the values of faith, love, and kindness that were so important to him. One of his guiding mottos was: “Plan your work and work your plan.”
Paul’s kindness and generosity extended beyond his family, touching the lives of many within his community and church. He lived his life with a servant’s heart, always ready to lend a helping hand, offer words of encouragement, or simply be there for those in need. His presence was a source of comfort and peace to all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Though our hearts ache with his absence, we find peace in knowing he is now in the presence of the Lord, and that his legacy will continue to live on in all of us. His love and faith will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know him.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents, William “Bill” Steele and Wife Ruby Irene Steele and his brother Richard Steele. He is survived by his cherished wife, Margaret Broome Steele and their three children, Greg Steele (wife Christy Steele), Chuck Steele and Debbie Steele (Gary Arbogast), his ten grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and his brother Mike Steele (wife Jan Steele and Richards wife Katharine Steele)
