Peggy (Herlocker) Bivens

Peggy Bivens, 69 of Wingate, NC has had a faith that has been made sight. Peggy passed away peacefully in her home Saturday, June 4, 2016. Peggy was born April 26, 1947 in Danville, VA, daughter to the late Whitey Journigan Adell Hurlocker. She is also preceded in death by her step father Carl Hurlocker. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday June 7, 2016 at First Baptist Church Indian Trail East Campus 6140 W Marshville Blvd, Marshville, NC 28103. Interment will follow at Gethsemane Memorial Gardens 1504 W Sugar Creek Rd Charlotte, NC 28262 Peggy is survived by her faithful husband of 24 years, Chuck Bivens, and their five children, Jeff Jones and wife Tammy of Monroe, Monica Moser Tucker and husband Randy of Wingate, Bruce Moser and wife Julie of Monroe, Kelly Moser of Monroe, and Leslie Moser of Albemarle. She is also survived by ten grandchildren, Phillip Jones of Monroe, Kasey Jones and Ray Milton of Monroe, Hailee Jones of Monroe, Ramsee Parrish and husband Brandon of Newton, Shelbee Barbee of Albemarle, Jake and Jessica Benton of Wingate, and Alyssa, Kristen, and Caleb Moser of Monroe. Peggy was also blessed with three great grandchildren, Landon, Hope, and Zane Jones of Monroe. Peggy is also survived by three sisters, Sandy Hamilton of Clover, SC, Patsy Hazelwood of Danville, VA, and Judy McMillan of Matthews. She graduated from West Mecklenburg High School in 1965. She had a lucrative career in Real Estate for many years. She was named Realtor of the Year in 1996. She was recognized for her service in her community locally and statewide. She formed Whitestone Realty and served her community well. She represented the Real Estate Industry in Washington DC and in Atlanta. She was appointed as the director of the NC Real Estate Educators Association and became president in 1996. After retiring from Real Estate in 1998, she started her lifelong dream of Whitestone Ministries. Peggy ministered to hundreds of people throughout the years. She without fail always pointed people to the Savior. Right up until the last moments, Peggy was pointing people to Christ. Her faith has made her whole. She will be incredibly missed, but there is assurance of a sweet reunion one day! The family thanks you for your love and support, and Peggy would want to know, Do you know Jesus Christ? The family will meet at the home of Monica Tucker after her home going service. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church Indian Trail East Campus 6140 W Marshville Blvd, Marshville, NC 28103 or White Stone Ministries 256 Ann Perry St. Wingate, NC 28174. The family will receive friends on Monday, June 6, 2016 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Gordon Funeral Service, 1904 Lancaster Ave. Monroe, NC 28112.
