Peggy Helms, 77, passed away Saturday, January 11, 2014. She was born in Union County, NC January 7, 1937, daughter of the late Noble and Chole Melton Helms. She is also preceded in death by her husband Melvin Helms, and a daughter Pam Helms. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM, Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at Roanoke Baptist Church, 618 Roanoke Church Road, Monroe NC 28110. Burial will follow in the Lucy Helms Cemetery. The family will receive friends starting at 12:30 PM until 1:45 PM at the church. Peggy is survived by her son Tim Helms of Monroe, and two sisters, Ora Lee Melton of Winston Salem, and Judy Graham of Monroe.
