Peggy Gaddy Knight, 72, of Monroe, NC passed away on Monday, July 10, 2023. She was born in Union County on January 13, 1951, daughter to the late Lacy Junior Gaddy and Christine Laney Gaddy. She is also preceded in death by her sister-in-law Sybil Gaddy.

A private service will be held on Saturday, July 15, 2023, at Lakeland Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00PM until 8:00PM on Friday, July 14, 2023, at Gordon Funeral Service and Crematory, 1904 Lancaster Ave, Monroe, NC 28112.

Peggy is survived by her loving husband of 53 years Johnny Knight, and their twin daughters Christy Knight and Carrie King (Phillip), two grandchildren Colby Belk and Colin Belk, her older brother Donald Gaddy, as well as multiple nieces and nephews.

Peggy was one of the first female volunteer firefighters in Union County. She worked at Parkwood High School for 33 years and was a life-long dedicated member of Prospect Church.
