Peggy Joe Harrell Richardson

Peggy Joe Harrell Richardson, 68, passed away Saturday February 12, 2005 at her home after a courageous battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her loving family. She was born September 30, 1936, daughter of the late Henry Richmond Harrell and Hallie Griffin Harrell. For over 25 years Peggy enjoyed meeting people and making friends while working in retail, many of those years at Julie’s. After retirement she cared for residents of Union Park Assisted Living. Upon leaving Union Park she was the primary caregiver for Mrs. Blanche Benton. Peggy was known by many as Nana. She was a giving, caring, and loving person to her family as well as to others. She is survived by daughters Denise Richardson Stafford and husband Chris, Angie Richardson Reeder and husband Bill. Five grandchildren; Morgan Kendall Reeder, Madison Kennedy Reeder, McCall Kendon Reeder, Christopher Harrison Stafford, and Margaret Caroline Stafford. One sister; Virginia Harrell Richardson of York, South Carolina. Karen Totherow and Gary Richardson, niece and nephew, also of York, South Carolina. The family will receive friends Monday, February 14 from 6-8 at Gordon Funeral Cremation Service, 1904 Lancaster Ave. Monroe. The funeral service will be held Tuesday, February 15 at 2:30 pm in Gordon’s chapel. Burial will follow at Sandy Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery.
