Penny Springs Bowden, 61, was the most loving, selfless, hard-working, godly, gentle, patient, strong, and humble woman in the world. She was welcomed into the open arms of Jesus on Thursday, June 9th, 2022. Her beauty radiated from the inside out. She loved everyone fiercely and completely; especially her husband Kenneth, son Joshua and his wife Lacey, daughter Marcie and her husband Steve, and her beloved grandbabies. She was the best wife, Momma, Mawmaw, daughter, sister, and friend there has ever been. We would give anything to have more time, more talks, hugs, more wisdom from her, another meal (she was the best cook and could make anything from nothing), or just to look into her incredible green eyes or see that beautiful smile again. Our hearts are stunned and shattered. We don’t know how to live without her. She did everything for everyone. This world will never be the same without her in it. We cling to the comfort of knowing that she is now healed and made whole with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and will never be in pain again. We begged and pleaded for our loving God to heal her and He did. Just not in the way we had hoped. Our gracious God was merciful and spared her the suffering of the leukemia that she had been diagnosed with just the day before she was taken from us. Call your mom while you can, hug her tight and long. Spend the time you have with those that you love. Make sure they know Jesus--and that you do too--so that you can hear the words sweet Penny heard; well done my good and faithful servant. Go forward from here and love like Penny loved. She was a charter member of Grace Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School and was a member of the choir.
