Phillip Gregory Mosley

Phillip Gregory Mosley went to be with Jesus on December 28, 2021, at the age of 71, in his home town of Waxhaw, North Carolina. As he was surrounded by his loving family, he walked through the gates of Heaven, free from pain and suffering. He was born March 23, 1950 in Union County. Funeral services will be 1:00PM, Friday December 31, 2021 at Gordon Funeral Chapel, with burial to follow at Walkersville Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Family will receive friends Thursday, December 30, 2021 from 5:00PM until 7:00PM at Gordon Funeral Service, 1904 Lancaster Ave., Monroe, NC 28110. Some know him as a farmer, a bus driver, an old timer that went to the same store every day, and a good Christian man. But he was so much more. He was a husband to his beautiful wife Brenda of 52 years. He was "Daddy" to his three children: Melissa (Kevin) Plyler, Crystal (Charlie) McDaniel, and Brandon (Jessica) Mosley. He was "Granddaddy" to six grandchildren: Ashlyn (Hunter) Crook, Autumn Plyler, Adyson Plyler, Alstyn Plyler, Bailey McDaniel, and Drew McDaniel. This past year, he also got to fill the role as Great Granddaddy to little Marshall Crook. Phil was a "son" to his mother Betty Lou Mosley and was preceded in death by his father Johnny Franklin Mosley. Johnny went to be with Jesus back in 2010. Phil was also known as "brother" to his three siblings: Marsha (Bob) Stirton, Karen (Phillip) Carter, and Russell (Tammy) Mosley. A friend to so many and a stranger to none, Phil was a simple man who loved God and loved life. By simple, I mean you knew where he was most of the time. He was either at his good friend Johnny's shop or at the old store shootin' the breeze with his buddies. A great friend is what he was to so many. He loved spending time with his family and watching his grandkids play sports. But, his favorite thing was taking his family to Disney World. And here recently, he so loved getting to spend time with his great-grand baby. Those memories will be so treasured.
