Dateline: Conway, SC Phyllis Diane Thomas Hartis, 56, passed away Monday, April 28, 2008 at Conway Memorial Hospital. She was born in Union County, NC on February 16, 1952 daughter of the late Henry Alexander and Ona Lee Pressley Thomas. Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 1, 2008 at 2:00 PM in the Gordon Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in Lakeland Memorial Park. Phyllis was mother to Jeffrey Hartis of Gastonia, NC Amanda Thomas and Tracy Hartis, both of Charlotte, NC and Stacy Grieves of Clover, SC. She is also survived by brothers, Jerry Thomas of Indian Trail, NC, Larry Thomas and Harold Thomas both of Monroe, NC Carroll Thomas and Dennis Thomas both of Indian Trail, NC and Ricky Thomas of Myrtle Beach, SC, sisters, Johnnie Tarlton and Vicky Thomas, both of Indian Trail, NC and Debbie Privette of Monroe, NC, and was also proud grandmother to 7 grandchildren. She is also survived by loving partner of 25 years, William “Bill” E. Pressley and was a friend to all who befriended her. The family will receive friends Thursday prior to the funeral from 12:00 until 1:45 at Gordon Funeral Cremation Service, 1904 Lancaster Ave., Monroe, NC 28112.
