Preston Lemar Underwood, 67, of Union County, died suddenly Sunday morning, May 29, 2022 at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte. Mr. Underwood was born on Saturday, September 25, 1954 in Union County and was the son of the late John Cornelius and Gladys (Adcock) Underwood.

Mr. Underwood was a lifelong area resident and a member of the Kiwanis Club and Monroe Civitan Club. He also served on the Board of Directors of ARC of Union County.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving sister, Kathy G. McGinnis and her husband, Don of Monroe, NC. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and his late brother’s wife, E.J. Underwood. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his beloved brother, J.C. Underwood and his sister, Martha Aldridge.

Funeral services to celebrate Mr. Underwood’s life will be 2:00 PM Friday afternoon, July 29, 2022 with the family to receive friends one hour prior to the service in the Gordon Funeral Chapel, with burial to follow at Lakeland Memorial Park.
