Rachel Eason DeFore, 79, passed away Thursday, December 18, 2014. She was born January 14, 1935 in Union County, daughter of the late Thomas Roscoe and Hattie Watkins Eason. She was preceded in death by a son, Dennis Avery Crooke. Funeral services will be Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at 11:00 AM in Gordon Funeral Chapel, 1904 Lancaster Avenue, Monroe, NC 28112. Burial will follow in Lakeland Memorial Park. The family will visit with friends and relatives from 10:00 - 10:45 AM prior to the service. Ms. DeFore is survived by her husband, John DeFore; son, Phillip A. Crooke and wife Daniela of Virginia; daughter, Stephanie DeFore of Delaware; grandchildren, Kevin Crooke and wife Glory, Dustin Crooke, Noah Thomas and Madison Thomas and sister, Grace E. Price of Gastonia. Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
