Rachel Ann Drake

Mrs. Rachel Ann Pressley Drake, 88, passed away Saturday, October 3, 2020 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Union County on December 19, 1931 to the late Samuel Houston Pressley and Sally Mae Medlin Pressley. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of over 69 years, Jimmy Eugene “Gene” Drake. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Paul Pressley and Burrell Pressley. A private funeral service will be held at Gordon Funeral Service. Burial will follow in Lakeland Memorial Park. She was a long-time member of Mill Creek Baptist Church and a former employee of Monroe Hardware. She was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother that will be greatly missed. Rachel is survived by her children, Debbie (Tom) Baucom and Jimmy B. (Phyllis) Drake; grandchildren, Kelly (Jeff) Hinson, Shannon (Tony) Wright, Scott (Jessica) Drake, Lauren (Brandon) Helms; eight great-grandchildren; brother, Sam (Carolyn) Pressley, and sisters, Mary (Parks) Nance, Laura Little, Judy (Dwayne) Hinson and Donna (Lawrence) Shaw. In lieu of flowers the family request memorials be made to Mill Creek Baptist Church (Building Fund) 5417 Morgan Mill Road, Monroe, NC, 28110.
