Ralph Hewey Broome

Ralph Hewey Broome, 82, of Waxhaw, passed away Thursday, November 23, 2017. He was born October 25, 1935 in Lancaster, SC, a son of the late Charlie Edgar and Virgie Hinson Broome. He served in the United States Air Force and retired from Springs Industries. He is preceded in death by his wife Faye Laney Broome and a step-son Jimmy Dewain Gay. Funeral services will be 2:00PM Monday, November 27, 2017 at Sandy Ridge Baptist Church with the Rev. Eddie Powers officiating. Burial will follow with military honors in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends before the service at the church from 12:00PM to 1:45PM. Mr. Broome is survived by a son, Michael L. Broome and his fiancé Mitzie Gossey of Waxhaw, a step-son, Rick Gay and his wife Alice, of Waxhaw, a daughter, Angela Brosch Williams and her husband Chad of Waxhaw, a step-daughter Karen Crum and her husband Alan of Wesley Chapel, a brother, Jerry Broome of Kershaw, SC, three sisters, Lila Lowery of Rock Hill, SC, Peggy Phillips of Kershaw, SC, Betty Wallace of Kershaw, SC, five grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.
