Ray Calvin O'Shields

Ray Calvin O’Shields, 72, died Sunday, December 2, 2007. He was born in Spartanburg County, SC on February 14, 1935 son of the late Floyd and Elouise Jones O’Shields. Mr. O’Shields was a retired City of Monroe employee and a retired US Navy veteran. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 4, 2007 at 2:00 PM at Mineral Springs United Methodist Church. Burial with military honors will follow in the church cemetery. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Sue Poag O’Shields. He is survived by sons, Stephen O’Shields, of Harleyville, SC, David and Timothy O’Shields, both of Indian Trail, NC, daughter, Mandy Brooks of Mineral Springs, NC, brothers, Henry Gus O’Shields of Myrtle Beach, SC and Pete O’Shields of Greer, SC, sister, Jackie Bailey of Woodruff, SC and 9 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. The family will receive friends prior to the funeral on Tuesday at 12:30 PM at the church.
