Rayford “Smitty” Ferguson, 78, passed away Sunday, June 11, 2023. He was born October 10, 1944 in Union County, son of the late Vernon Ferguson and Evelyn McCall Ferguson. He is also preceded in death by his brother, James Ferguson and sister Grace Phillips.

Funeral services will be held 2:00PM Thursday, June 15, 2023, at Antioch Baptist Church, 6223 Love Mill Rd., Monroe, NC 28110, with burial following at Lakeland Memorial Park. The family will receive friends and relatives from 1:00PM until 1:45PM prior to the service at the church.

Smitty is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Pat Griffin Ferguson, two step sons; Michael Whitley, Mitchel Whitley (Nora), three step grandchildren; Andrew Whitley, Austin Whitley and Amber Bohren (Josh), two sisters; Teena Ferguson and Judy Small.
