Rebecca “Becky” Medlin Byrum was born in Union County, NC, March 22, 1936, daughter of the late Reece Lee Medlin and Aileen Strawn Medlin. She is also preceded in death by her husband Donald Mack Byrum, brother Jim Medlin, son-in-law James “Boomer” Hamilton. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, April 28, 2018, at Trinity Baptist Church, Burial will follow in Lakeland Memorial Park. Becky is survived by her sons Ray Byrum and wife Judy of Peachland, and Michael Byrum; a daughter Debbie Hamilton, a sister, Debra Griggs husband Randall of Weddington, four brothers; Harold Medlin Sr wife Grace, Walter Medlin wife Violet, David Medlin wife Melmar and Tim Medlin wife Laurie all of Monroe, a brother in-law Kenneth Byrum wife Carol of Indian Trail, and numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends Friday, April 27, 2018, from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Gordon Funeral Service, 1904 Lancaster Ave., Monroe, NC 28112.
