Sue O. Fleetwood, age 94, of Monroe, passed away Saturday, March 8, 2014 at her residence. She was born in Sparta, NC on April 20, 1919 to the late Walter and Virgie Osborne. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Robert Fleetwood and her son Bob Fleetwood, one sister Mary Thompson of Sparta, Frank Osborne of Sparta, and Tom Osborne of Greensboro. She was a life-long member of the First Presbyterian Church in Monroe. She is survived by six nieces and nephews; Zack Osborne of Greensboro, Debi White of Bryson City, Dr. Jim Osborne of Greensboro, Frankye Edwards of Sparta, Beth Bourgoin of Sparta, and Ann Rutherford of Eatonton, Ga. Sue's love for life, humor, and devotion to her son Bob, was an inspiration to all of her family and friends. She will be greatly missed. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held on March 13, 2014 at 2:00 PM in the Gordon Funeral Chapel, 1904 Lancaster Ave., Monroe, NC 28112.
