Reece Dwayne Baucom

April 18, 1949 — March 3, 2018

Reece Dwayne Baucom, 68, passed away on March 3rd, 2018 at his home in New Salem. Dwayne was born to Frances Barbee and the late Reece Jackson Baucom in Albemarle and spent his entire life in New Salem. Dwayne was married to his loving, devoted wife and best friend Susan Greene Baucom for 50 wonderful and joy-filled years. Dwayne proudly served his country as a Marine in the Vietnam War and continued his service as a member of the New Salem VFW. He retired after 31 years from Pioneer Hybrid serving as Regional Sales Manager for the Carolinas Virginia areas. Dwayne spent his retirement years traveling, camping, spending time with his family, and enjoyed numerous Disney excursions. He is survived by his wife of 50 years Susan Greene Baucom of New Salem, son Michael Baucom and his wife Missy of Charlotte and step-grandchildren, Will and his wife Carson Warren, Madison Warren and her fiancé Keaston Sinicki, son Chris Baucom and his wife Lisa of Monroe, grandchild Jada Baucom and step-grandchildren Lindsey Green and her fiancé Chasen Noseff and Morgan Green, brother Randy Baucom. He is also survived by a multitude of nieces, nephews and extended family. Funeral Service for Dwayne will be held from the Graveside at Lakeland Memorial Park at 2:00p.m., Thursday, March 8th with Military Honors with the Rev. Dr. Luther Kimery officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 12:00p.m. until 1:45p.m. at Gordon’s Funeral Service. Gordon Funeral Service and Crematory is caring for the Baucom family.
