Regina Diann (Gordon) Lanham

Regina Diann Lanham, 66, passed away Wednesday, May 11, 2016. She was born November 17, 1949 in Haleyville, Alabama, daughter to the late Howard Delmus Arie Barnett Gordon. She is also preceded in death by a daughter Melissa Diann Lanham, a brother Howard Delmus Gordon, Jr., and a sister Merle G. Blakemore. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM, Wednesday, May 18, 2016 in Gordon Funeral Chapel, 1904 Lancaster Ave., Monroe, NC 28112. The family will receive friends following the service. Graveside services will be held 1:00 PM, Thursday, May 19, 2016 in Salisbury National Cemetery, 501 Statesville Blvd. Salisbury, NC 28144. Diann is survived by her loving husband Melvin Lanham, two sons Christopher Louis Lanham of Charlotte, and Anthony Howard Lanham of Marshville, a brother Talton “Tack” Gordon of Columbia SC, three sisters, Johnnie Jones, of Lexington, KY, Rebecca Oakes, of Lexington, KY, and Rita Wortham of Oklahoma, OK, four grandchildren, Kristina Lanham, Scott Lanham, both of Columbia SC, Caleb Lanham and Nolan Lanham both of Monroe. Regina Diann Lanham, Diann lived with her husband and two sons and worked as a nurse in Charleston, SC until 1984. Then, they moved to Charlotte, NC where she continued working as a nurse at Presbyterian Hospital until she became disabled and moved to Marshville, NC with her husband. Diann's primary work then became the go-to person for the family for all medical advice and cherishing her family and grandchildren. Diann cared and loved her grandchildren more than herself and looked forward to visiting with them and surprising them with various toys and gifts. Diann's kind and loving spirit extended past her family as she would go out of her way for even those she barely knew. Diann was known as Aunt D to her family and Amma to her grandchildren and she will be dearly missed. Gordon Funeral Service Crematory is caring for the Lanham family.
