Rettie Mae (York) Duncan

Rettie York Duncan, 94, passed away Sunday, May 31, 2015. She was born September 11, 1920 daughter to the late James Andrew “J.A.” and Bessie Medlin York. She is also preceded in death by her husband William Thomas “W.T.” Duncan, sisters Colleen Long, Mary Whitley, Kathleen York, and Lois York, brothers Frank, Joe, Amos, Marvin, J.K. and Robert York. Funeral services will be held 5:00 PM, Monday, June 1, 2015 in Gordon Funeral Chapel, with burial to follow in Lakeland Memorial Park. Mrs. Duncan is survived by three sons, Tommy Duncan, wife Venale, Wayne Duncan, wife Peggy, and Shelton Duncan, wife Ercel, one daughter, Linda Hagler, husband Robert, all of Monroe, two brothers Charles York, wife Geraldine, Donald York, wife Coleen, all of Monroe, one sister Ruth Purser, husband, “H.D.” of Mint Hill, Nine grandchildren, and twenty five great grandchildren. The family will receive friends Monday, June 1, 2015 from 3:00 PM until 4:45 PM at Gordon Funeral Service, 1904 Lancaster Ave. Monroe NC 28112.
