Reverend Donald “Don” Smith Ghant, 81, of Waxhaw, NC passed away on Monday, April 27, 2026. He was born in Union County, NC on August 8, 1944, son to the late Calvin Poe Ghant and Ella Harrinigton Ghant. He is also preceded in death by his loving wife Shirley Mullis Ghant, daughter, Donna Williams, brothers, Robert Ghant, Archie Ghant, Arnold Ghant, and sisters, Bernice Doster, and Jean Icenhour.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00PM, on Friday, May 1, 2026, in the Chapel of Gordon Funeral Service, 1904 Lancaster Ave, Monroe, NC 28112. The family will receive friends following the service. He will be laid to rest privately at a later date at Waxhaw Baptist Church “Round Top” Cemetery.

Don is survived by two daughters, Kim Stack, Robin Carter, 7 grandchildren, and 21 great-grandchildren.
