Rev. Harold Dean Coleman

August 8, 1938 — February 6, 2024

Rev. Harold Dean Coleman, 85, of Monroe, NC passed away on Tuesday, February 6, 2024. He was born in Pike County, KY, son to the late Fred and Phroda Damron Coleman. He is also preceded in death by his daughter, Marlene Louise Coleman, sisters; Mattie, Linda.


A funeral service with Military Honors will be held at 3:00PM on Sunday, February 11, 2024, in the Chapel of Gordon Funeral Service. A private burial will be held at a later date in Sandy Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery.


The family will receive friends from 3:00PM until 5:00PM on Saturday, February 10, 2024, at Gordon Funeral Service and Crematory, 1904 Lancaster Ave, Monroe, NC 28112.


Rev. Harold is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Patsy Webb Coleman, daughters; Margaret Thompson (Darrell), Melinda Thigpen (Wayne), and Miriam Zabonik (Mike), five grandchildren; Rebecca Cassel, Frank Iezzi, Anthony Zabonik, Kelly Zabonik, and Tom Zabonik, and one great grandchild expected in March, sisters; Freddie Ann, Mary, Shelby, and Sue.


He was a US Army Veteran, serving in Germany. At the age of 47 he was called to Ministry, ordained in 1986 where he ministered to numerous churches over the span of 21 years. He then ministered at assisted living facilities for over 13 years.


In lieu of flowers the family request memorials be made to the donor’s choice.
