Rev. John B. Hailey went home to be with his all-sufficient Savior and Lord on Tuesday, May 10, 2022. He is the son of the late John Paul Hailey and Virginia Rose Taylor Hailey. He is also preceded in death by his brother, Paul Hailey. Rev. Hailey moved to Monroe, NC five years ago. Prior to moving to NC, he lived and grew up in Hawthorne, Paterson and Brick, NJ.

Funeral services will be held 3:00PM, Friday, May 13, 2022 at Gordon Funeral Chapel, 1904 Lancaster Ave., Monroe, NC 28112. The family will receive visitors 2:00PM until 2:45PM prior to the service. Entombment will follow at Lakeland Memorial Park.

From 1966-1973, Rev. Hailey was an on-air radio announcer, interviewer and counselor with WFME Family Radio in West Orange NJ. He became an ordained Independent Baptist Minister in 1971. He pastored five churches and was an Evangelist travelling throughout the Northeast preaching the Word of God and sharing the love and truth about Jesus Christ with others. He was also an Adjunct English Professor for nine years at Monmouth University in New Jersey.

He is survived by his wife, Olive “Cookie” Cardinali Hailey; son John B. Hailey, Jr, wife, Melissa; daughters Sharon Hailey Aceta, husband, Brad and Heather Hailey Wilson, husband, Michael; and eight grandchildren, Michael Wilson, Jr., Luke Wilson, Matthew Wilson, Malachi Wilson, Levi Wilson, John Barrett Hailey, III (JT), Anika Hailey and Judah Aceta.
