Richard Carl Meyer

Mr. Richard Carl Meyer 81, passed away peacefully August 12, 2011, surrounded by his family. A native of California, he was born May 11, 1930. His parents were the late Carl and Helen Brown Meyer, and preceded by his son Darrell Richard Meyer. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM, Monday August 15, 2011 at Benton's Cross Roads Baptist Church with burial to follow in the Church Cemetery. The family will have visitation today (Sunday) from 4:00 until 6:00 PM at Gordon Funeral Service 1904 Lancaster Ave., Monroe, NC 28110. Surviving are his wife Carol Stewart Meyer; sons: Stephen Robert Meyer of Corpus Christi, TX, Donald Allen Meyer of Grand Prairie, TX and Daniel Brian Meyer of Rio Rancho, NM. Daughters: Donna Richelle Neely of Lancaster, CA; Diane Meyer-Nelson of Gardner, KS, Stephanie Hinson of Indian Trail, Melissa Brooks of Harrisburg and Caroline Shank of Waxhaw. Sisters: Janet Hammond of Arlington, TX, Muriel Luke of Hastings of NE. and Mildred Thompson of Eugene OR, fourteen grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, and four great great grandchildren.
