Richard "Rick" Charles Giarla Jr.

Richard “Rick” Charles Giarla Jr., 73, of Wilmington, NC passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 29, 2024. He was born in Schenectady County, NY, on November 26, 1951 son to the late Richard Charles Giarla and Beverly Monroe Giarla. He is also preceded in death by his son, Andrew Reagan Giarla.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, January 8, 2025 in the Chapel of Gordon Funeral Service, with burial to follow in Waxhaw City Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 PM until 1:45 PM at Gordon Funeral Service and Crematory, 1904 Lancaster Ave, Monroe, NC 28112.

Rick was a United States Marine Corps Veteran and spent his spare time coaching sports for kids, this was a passion for him. He was a longtime member of the Waxhaw Athletic Assocation.He spent his career in the automotive business he loved talking with people and helping them with their needs.

He is survived by his children, Deborah Giarla Evans, Richard Giarla III (Tina), Margaret Cherry (Richie), Nicholas Giarla, (Victoria) and Rion Williams; also brothers, Dana Giarla (Bonnie) and Wade Giarla of Salem Va.
