Rickey Jefferson Deese

Rickey Jefferson Deese, 64, of Monroe, passed away Sunday, November 26, 2017, at his home. He was born December 13, 1952 in Union County a son of the late Jefferson Davis and Hallie Hinson Deese. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the Sanctuary of Central United Methodist Church, 801 South Hayne Street, Monroe, NC 28112 at 2:00 pm Saturday, December 2, 2017. The family will receive friends in Central Hall on Saturday from 12:30PM to 1:30PM. Rickey worked for 30 years as an engineer for Duke Energy. He was a faithful and active member of Central United Methodist Church where he taught Middle High Sunday School. He was also involved with the Boy Scouts as Cubmaster of Pack 169 and Scoutmaster of Troop 169. He coached soccer, baseball and basketball in the Piedmont area Youth League for many years. Rickey is survived by his wife, Linda Shore Deese, three sons, Jeremy Deese and his wife Lauren, Aaron David Deese, Daniel Deese and his wife Vanessa, a grandson, Sullivan Deese, a brother, Jerry Deese and his wife Shirley. The family requests in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to Central United Methodist Church, 801 South Hayne Street Monroe, NC 28112 or to Hospice of Union County, 700 West Roosevelt Blvd. Monroe, NC 28110.
