Robert Claymon Helms died May 4th, 2026. A Christian and a faithful church member, was born on May 21, 1942, a son of the late Bill and Margie Helms. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Julia Louise Taylor, his brothers Jimmy Helms, Harold Helms, Edwin Helms, and Ted Helms.

Robert is survived by his wife Beda Lou Efird Trenning-Helms, daughter Melinda Luanne Helms; stepchildren, Jeffery Paul Trenning (Lynn), and Anne Elizabeth Trenning-Sasser; four grandchildren; sisters Gerladine Griffin, Doris Braswell (Johnny), Linda McDaniel; brothers Sherrill Helms (Luci), C.W. Helms (Dale); and sisters-in-law Mary Ben Carnes (David) and Sandra Helms.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00PM on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, in the Chapel of Gordon Funeral Service, with private burial to follow. The family will receive friends from 1:00PM until 1:45 PM at Gordon Funeral Service, 1904 Lancaster Ave, Monroe, NC 28112.
