Dateline: Monroe, NC Robert Neal Laney, 86, passed away Wednesday, June 22, 2011. He was born in Union County, NC on May 20, 1925 son of the late J. Walter and Wilma Armfield Laney. Mr. Laney was a US Navy WW II veteran. A graveside service will be held Saturday, June 25, 2011 at 2:00 PM at Monroe City Cemetery. Mr. Laney is survived by 1 sister, Eleanor Lingle of Elberton, GA and nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to Central United Methodist Church, 801 S. Hayne St., Monroe, NC 28112.
