Robert Paul Lingerfelt

Robert Paul Lingerfelt II, 73, of Waxhaw, NC passed away on Wednesday, February 19, 2025. He was born in Ramseur, NC on March 7, 1951, son of the late Robert Paul Lingerfelt and Mary Muffy McFarland Lingerfelt.

Bob graduated from Guilford College with a Sports studies major in 1973. He started working at YMCA as a swim coach & moved on to work at Teledyne Allvac until retiring in 2019.

Some of his favorite things were sunsets on the porch, going to the mountains or visiting the Outer Banks. He loved bald eagles, lighthouses and was also very proud of his country so the American Flag was another one of his favorites.

He also loved going to the racetrack, but most of all loved his granddaughter & watching her play and grow up.

A celebration of life social will be held from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at Gordon Funeral Service, 1904 Lancaster Ave, Monroe, NC 28112. The family will hold a private interment in Oakwood Cemetery in Hickory, NC.

He is survived by his loving wife Denise McWhorter Lingerfelt, two daughters, Hannah Lingerfelt and Candace Lingerfelt, sisters Cathryn Williamson (Glenn), and Carolyn Brown, one granddaughter, Victoria “Tori” Leigh Lingerfelt.

The family has requested donations be made to LLS (Leukemia & Lymphoma Society), Levine Children’s Cancer Center or St. Jude.
