Robert Allen Morrow

Dateline: Monroe, NC Robert Allen Morrow, of Monroe, passed away on Monday, May 27, 2013 at 75 years of age. Born on July 24, 1937, Robert was a devoted and loving husband, father and Pop-Pop. He spent thirty years as a well-respected math professor. Twenty-four of those years were at Central Piedmont Community College where he was committed to giving nothing less than his best to the school and his students. Robert had many hobbies throughout his life and he seemed to excel at all of them! From hiking to photography to clock-making to target-shooting, he seemed to be able to figure anything out and teach himself anything. But, he valued and loved his family above all else and together they created a lifetime of memories of family dinners, holidays, road trips, and everyday moments. His kind heart and strong spirit will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him! Robert is survived by his wife of 49 years, Jeanette Hill Morrow, three daughters, Beth Morrow Loflin (Brad) of Monroe, Lori A. Morrow of Charlotte, Gail Morrow Holcomb (Jeff) of Wilmington, a granddaughter, Hayden A. Holcomb, and a brother, David L. Morrow of Lynchburg, VA. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Allen Morrow, Sr. and Kathryn Lee Morrow. A graveside funeral service will be held Thursday, May 30, 2013 at 11:00 AM in Lakeland Memorial Park.
