Robert Mosley, a devoted and caring Husband, Father, Grandfather, and Great Granddad passed away unexpectedly on June 26, 2022, in Houston, TX while sleeping in his home. Robert was 87 years old and had lived in Huntwick Subdivision for the past 50 years. He was born in Union County, NC, and was the youngest of 6 children of William Ervin and Selma McBride Mosley. Robert was preceded in death by his father, Ervin; mother, Selma; sisters, Margaret Melton, Tommie Thompson, and Sue Brantley; brother, Arlin Mosley; and grandson, Reese. Robert grew up on a farm in Waxhaw, NC, and graduated from Jackson HS where he played on the basketball team. He went into the Army after high school and worked for the Secret Service as a cryptographer, which involved creating and deciphering secret writing for the military. After being stationed in Germany for 2 years, he returned home to attend college at UNC in Chapel Hill, NC, where he met and later married his wife of 52 yrs, Virginia Russell. Robert was a true southern gentleman who loved his family more than anyone ever knew. He loved to work and was a diligent and hard worker with the best work ethic in everything he did. In his spare time, he was always working in his yard and/or on his pool, reading every page of the Houston Chronicle, or watching his favorite college and professional sports teams on TV. Robert was a successful salesman, traveling for a living, with Sauder Labs, which transferred him to Houston, TX in 1970. He also worked in sales for Whitehall Labs and Bright Industries. Eventually, he started his own company, Unique Sales & Marketing, with 2 partners as a Sales Broker representing many companies and covering the southern part of Texas. Robert’s greatest joy was spending time with his family and watching his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was blessed with a very large extended family, thanks to his 5 siblings, and they remained close even though they lived in NC. He willingly accepted the animals his wife and children brought into his home as well as the many children who were always visiting. Robert was well-liked by everyone he met and will be dearly missed by his family, friends, neighbors, and his beloved 4-legged family members. The doors of heaven have opened and his work here on earth is done. He is reunited with others who went before him, and they are together again, resting in eternal peace. Left to mourn and cherish his memory are his children: Robert A. Mosley, Melanie R. Mosley, and Beverly A. Mckethan. His grandchildren: Alex Mckethan and wife Alena Mckethan, Avery Mosley, and Aidan Mosley. His great-grandchildren: Mila Mckethan, Brinley Mckethan, and Peri Mckethan. His sister, Ajean Broome, and brother-in-law, Eugene Brantley, along with numerous nieces, nephews, neighbors, and friends, especially his best friend and business partner, Jimmy Johnson.
