Robert Lynn Pate

Robert Lynn Pate, 78, of Monroe, passed away Tuesday, November 8, 2016. He was born January 14, 1938, in Mecklenburg County, NC to the late Henry Hamp and Frances Matheson Pate. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Henry Thomas Pate, Donald M. Pate, and Wade Pate; and sister, Elizabeth Lib Aldridge. Mr. Pate is survived by his wife, Tommie Lou Johnson Pate; sons, Donnie May of Polkton, Thomas Lynn Pate of Monroe, Robert Allen Pate of Monroe, and Anthony Pate of Pageland; daughters, Patricia A. Griffin of Monroe, Joann E. Brown of Monroe, and Cindy Owens of Nashville, GA; brother, James Pate of Monroe; sisters, Joyce Guion of Monroe, Ann Benton of Unionville, Nancy Pate of Monroe, and Kathy Helms of Monroe; 21 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. The family will visit with friends and relatives from 6:00-8:00 PM on Friday, November 11, 2016, at Gordon Funeral Service, 1904 Lancaster Avenue, Monroe, NC 28112. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, November 12, 2016, in the Gordon Funeral Chapel. Entombment will follow at Lakeland Memorial Park, 1901 Lancaster Avenue, Monroe, NC 28112.
