Robert Plyler was born in Monroe, NC (Union County) on December 20, 1933. He was the son of Ezell Azrah Plyler and Georgia McManus Plyler. He retired from the U.S Army having served 20 plus years and served three tours in Vietnam. After returning home he was employed by the Philadelphia School District as a construction manager. Mr. Plyler was preceded in death by his wife Gena M. Plyler and his infant daughter Diana, his parents, two sisters and one brother. He is survived by two brothers, Michael Plyler and wife Marcy, Joe Plyler and Sister Lucy P Burgess and husband Tommy, all of Monroe. He had a host of nephews and nieces who he adored. He especially loved his 3 year old twin great nephews, Luke and Jake and 4year old Blake Burgess. Funeral Services will be held in Philadelphia.
