A Celebration of Roger’s Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 22, 2026, at The Gathering Church, 304 Wilmington Ave, Surf City, NC.

On Sunday, August 23,2026 a Memorial Service with burial will be held at 2:00 p.m. at Faulks Baptist Church Cemetery, 2234 Faulks Church Rd, Marshville, NC. Following each service, friends are invited to join the family in the Fellowship Hall for refreshments and a time of fellowship.

Roger is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Denise Parker Fuente; stepdaughters, Melanie Lockhart (Jimmy) and Melissa Barr (Chad); granddaughter Katlyn Barr (fiancé, Michael Hajduk); step-grandson, Jacob Lockhart; great-grandson, Brewer Hajduk; father, Ralph Fuente; siblings, Amy Kayer (Jim) and John Fuente (Anita Varkey); and niece Alicia Kayer (Ari Pelna).

Roger grew up in Grahamsville, NY, in the Catskill Mountains. He attended Milwaukee school of engineering and Union College where he earned an engineering degree. He later obtained a contractor’s license, a mechanical license, and an electrical license. He spent most of his career in commercial HVAC, including many years owning and operating his own business. He was an extremely hard worker and could fix almost anything.

An avid outdoorsman, Roger loved traveling, boating, fishing, hunting, motorcycles, and cooking on the grill, He also loved playing guitar, especially at church. He couldn’t have been a more devoted husband, always putting Denise and family first. Roger loved our Lord and Savior and loved going to church on Sundays. He was looking forward to being healed and getting Jesus to teach him to be a better fisherman.
