Romie Mae Simpson

Romie Mae Rushing Simpson, 92, passed away Sunday, February 17, 2019 in Monroe NC. She was born to the late Marshall Dewey Rushing and Lillie Hinson Rushing. She was a long-time member of Antioch Baptist Church, where she served as a Sunday School Teacher. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, February 19, 2019 at 2:00pm at Antioch Baptist Church, 6223 Love Mill Rd, Monroe, NC 28110, with Rev. Joey Query to officiate. Burial will follow the service at Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends and family prior to the service from 1:00pm until 1:45pm at the church. Romie is preceded in death by her husband John Riley Simpson; son-in-law, John J. Pearson; grandson, John Richie Pearson; brothers, Lowell Rushing, J.C. Rushing, and Eugene Rushing; sisters, Grace Rushing. She is survived by her son, Rondall Simpson of Monroe; daughter, Jackie Simpson Pearson of Monroe; grandchild, Jason Chad Pearson (Tia) of Monroe, grand-daughter-in-law, Kattie Pearson of Monroe; great grandchildren, Kaylee, Justin, and Jacob, all of Monroe and many special nieces and nephews.
