Ronald Jerry Luhrs

Ronald Jerry Luhrs, 62, passed away on Wednesday, October 26, 2022 at home. He was born October 1, 1960, son to Christa Dodenhoff Luhrs and the late August W. Luhrs. He is also preceded in death by his daughter, Calandra Zuk.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, October 29, 2022 at Gordon Funeral Chapel, 1904 Lancaster Ave. Monroe, NC 28112. The family will be receiving friends prior to the service from 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM at the funeral home.

Ron is survived by his loving wife Michelle Luhrs; sons Kevin Luhrs, Randy Luhrs, Jason Testa, Bryan Smith; daughters Felicia Testa, Brandy Smith, Ashley Smith; brother David Luhrs and his wife Danielle; sister Joan Sellas Luhrs; one grandchild Juliana Testa; nieces Emily Sellas (Fabrice Larose), Brianna Sellas, Holly Constable; great-neice Kenadi Larose; great-nephews Atlas Larose, Titus Larose and fur-babies Cash, Walter, Owen, and Butter.

Ron served for 22 years in the United States Marine Corps and retired as a Chief Warrant Officer 03. He was stationed at Camp Lejeune and in Okinawa Japan. He served in Operation Desert Storm and participated in many other different peacekeeping operations throughout his service. He attended Cross and Crown Lutheran Church for several years and was a faithful member of the Lutheran faith.
