Ronald Laverne Nelson, 79, of Monroe, NC passed away Monday, March 12, 2018. He was born in Jamestown, NY, on February, 8, 1939 to the late Clifford Nelson and Evelyn Bingham. A memorial service will be held at 4:00pm, Thursday, March 15, 2018 at Gordon Funeral Service at 1904 Lancaster Ave, Monroe, NC 28112, with the Rev. Dr. Chris Baucom officiating. Mr. Nelson is survived by his loving wife Sylvia and two sons, Andrew Nelson, wife Marianne of Summerville, SC and Lee Nelson, wife Courtney of Lithia, FL. He is also survived by one brother, Timothy Nelson of Nettles Island, FL and two sisters, Diane Eddy of Nettles Island, FL and Cindy Canfield, husband James of Jamestown, NY and 10 grandchildren.
