Obituary

Ronald “Ron” Wayne Morgan, 82, of Charlotte, NC, passed away on April 11, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of generosity, love, and humor.

Ron graduated from Wayne High School in Wayne, New Jersey. He married the love of his life in 1967 and the couple moved to Ft. Myers, Florida in 1972. He earned his general contractor’s license a few years later and worked in the SW Florida area for over 40 years. He viewed that license not simply as a way to make a living, but as a means to help his community—freely sharing his knowledge, lending a hand, and guiding friends and colleagues through their own projects. As he fully embraced life in Florida, he also made one very important decision: becoming a die-hard Florida State fan. He followed the Seminoles through thick and thin.

Ron will be remembered above all as a man who deeply treasured his family. He was a devoted husband, father, father-in-law, and grandfather, and nothing brought him more joy than being with the people he loved. He was a presence at every ball game, every gymnastics meet, every piano recital. His family came first, always.

His “chosen family” – countless friends whose lives he touched over the years – all speak of his kindness, selflessness and his wicked sense of humor. Ron had a special way of making people feel valued and at ease, often leaving them with a smile or a laugh. He looked for the best in everyone and always counseled his children that everyone has something good in them; it’s our job to find it.

A church deacon in his later years, Ron lived out his beliefs through quiet, selfless service, always putting others before himself.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Patricia “Pat” Morgan; his children, Brad Morgan (Katie), Brian Morgan (Ebony), and Jennifer O’Brian (Chris); and his cherished grandchildren, Elliott, Emmett, Eamonn, and Maggie.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to the Home Builders Institute at https://hbi.org/donate/.
