Ronald Eugene Spohn, 72, passed away January 5, 2012. He was born February 28, 1939, in Cook County, IL, son of the late Leslie John and Josephine Duran Spohn. Funeral mass will be held Monday, January 9, 2012 at 11:00 AM in Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. A rosary service will be held Sunday, January 8, 2012 at 6:00 PM in Gordon Funeral Chapel, 1904 Lancaster Avenue, Monroe, NC 28112. Visitation will follow the rosary service. Burial with military honors will be in Lakeland Memorial Park following the funeral mass. Mr. Spohn is survived by his wife, Mary Ellen Spohn; one son, Shawn L. Spohn and wife Allison of Matthews; daughters, Hollymarie Britt of Greenville, NC, Alison A. Kavulich and husband Lawrence of Yorkville, IL and Lisa Alexander and husband David of Cornelius, NC; brothers, Melvin of Downers Grove, IL, David of Round Lake Beach, IL, Gregory of West Chicago, IL, Jason of New Buffalo, MI, Lawrence of Rio Rancho, NM and Robert of Portland, OR; sister, Adrienne Austin of Naperville, IL; grandchildren, Sophie and Scarlett Spohn, Andrew and Stephen Britt, Emma Kavulich, Brian, Brooke and Katherine Starnes and William, Lauren and Ava Alexander.
